120° in Texoma!

If I said to you, where is the hottest place in Texas?  What do you think you would answer?

Maybe...Presidio? Laredo? Del Rio? Somewhere out in the Chihuahua Desert?  Nope!

The hottest place ever in Texas is in Texoma!  (It's also shared with Monahans, Texas).

Back in June 1936 Seymour, Texas reached 120° F, in the shade.  Since then Monahans also reached that temperature in August of 1994.  But those are the only two places in Texas that we have readings of 120° and that is the highest ever.

Interesting huh?

Have a great day.
