Severe Weather Remains Possible For the Remainder of the Afternoon

The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has released their updated Severe Weather Threat Risk for today, Sunday, June 23, 2019.

Let's take a look:





ENHANCED RISK (3) for the following locations including the counties/cities of:

  • Wichita (Wichita Falls)
  • Archer (Archer City)
  • Young (Graham)
  • Baylor (Seymour)
  • Throckmorton (Throckmorton)
  • Haskell (Haskell)
  • Jack (Jacksboro)
  • Clay (Henrietta)
  • Montague (Nocona)
  • Jefferson (Waurika)

Timing:  230p through 700p CDT

Severe weather possible:

  • Isolated Tornadoes
  • Very Large Hail (up to baseballs)
  • Damaging Thunderstorm Winds/Gusts (up to 80mph)

  • Stephens (Duncan)
  • Comanche (Lawton)
  • Cotton (Walters)
  • Tillman (Frederick)
  • Wilbarger (Vernon)
  • Foard (Crowell)
  • Knox (Benjamin)
  • King (Guthrie)
  • Stonewall (Aspermont)

Timing:  Now through 600p CDT

Severe weather possible:

  • A Highly Isolated Tornado
  • Very Large Hail (up to baseballs)
  • Damaging Thunderstorm Winds/Gusts (up to 80mph)



MARGINAL RISK (1) for the following locations including the counties/cities of:

  • Kiowa (Hobart)
  • Jackson (Altus)
  • Hardeman (Quanah)
  • Cottle (Paducah)

Timing:  Now through 500p CDT

Severe weather possible:

  • Large Hail
  • Damaging Thunderstorm Winds/Gusts (up to 80mph)
There's little to no risk in Childress, Harmon and Greer Counties.
