Severe Weather Threat Risk Returns

The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has released their outlook for potential severe weather on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Here's the map of risk for the area on Sunday:

Notice a majority of counties are in some type of severe weather risk for Sunday.

Areas with a MARGINAL RISK include the counties of:

  • Wichita
  • Wilbarger
  • Baylor
  • Foard
  • Knox
  • Haskell
  • Stonewall
  • Jackson
  • Tillman
  • Cotton
  • Stephens
  • Jefferson
  • Comanche
  • Kiowa

Areas with a SLIGHT RISK include the counties of:

  • Archer
  • Clay
  • Throckmorton
  • Young
  • Jack
  • Montague

People in these area are likely to be put in watches and warnings at some point on Sunday.

The main threat from these storms will be:

  • Large Hail
  • Destructive Thunderstorm Winds
